Happy New Year and I pray everyone has a blessed 2017! We started a new message series this week entitled "The New You!" God wants to bless His Church and His children. We just need to be 100% surrendered to His will and allow Him to work in us and through us. "New You" is an exciting thought that we can be that new creation that Paul wrote about in II Corinthians 5:17. We are not rebuilt, remodeled, refurbished or renewed, but we are "NEW". God showed us 4 simple steps to be the "New You" this past Sunday. If we put our mind to following the ABC's of a "NEW YOU", 2017 can be the best year of our lives!
1. A New Attitude - Psalm 26:2 (Ask God to Examine You)
2. A New Belief - Isaiah 43:18-19 (True Faith and Belief in God's Power)
3. A New Conviction - Psalm 119:11 (Strong Scripture Based Convictions)
4. A New Desire - Matthew 5:16 (Daily Goals to Change Lives for Christ)
I want 2017 to be the year that we turn the corner in our spiritual growth and truly know God's power. With the "NewYou" and God's power at work in our lives what awesome potential to win others to Christ and disciple them to a life changing growth. Take the 2017 challenge and follow the simple ABC's to the "New You".
We are truly blessed to be pastoring at such an amazing little Church that is full of people with servant's hearts and the desire to change lives around them. I believe in my heart that in 2017 God is going to blow us away with some amazing new growth. Our goal is to be an outreach in our community to keep reaching one more for His Kingdom. Always be ready to tell someone about the hope you have in Jesus and don't miss an opportunity to share His love! Have a very blessed week!
Love you all,
I am going to leave the message points from "Let Go and Let God" posted here on the welcome page, as we all need to let God have His way in our lives on a daily basis. God poured out his blessings on the Church in Acts 2:41-47 and He wants to do the same for us today! The four steps we must take as believers to "Let Go and Let God" are the following:
1) Claim Our Power (Acts 1:8)
2) Accept Our Mission (Matthew 28:19)
3) Unite in Love (Matthew 22:37-40)
4) Focus on Our Purpose (Romans 8:28)
That same God that saved 3,000 souls on the Day of Pentecost is the same God we serve today! We must unite together as a Church and Impact the world around us for the glory of God! Start each morning by saying, "Lord, What would you have me to do?" When we have a T.G.I.F. day (Today God is First), we truly "Let Go and Let God"!
Folks are truly excited about the growth and vision God has placed upon our hearts. We come to Church for one purpose and that is to worship God and experience His amazing love as He changes lives each service.
Wednesday nights we continue the great time of fellowship in our weekly Bible study. We are studying the "Power of Prayer." I invite you to join us on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.
I also want to invite those in the community who do not have a Church home to come and grow with us. I feel God has led us to be a Church that everyone is invited to come as you are and allow God to make a difference in your life! Too many times we want to judge people because they are different than us and that is not what God wants for His Church. Hope to see you real soon at one of our morning services at 10:30 a.m. I believe you will enjoy our worship services and quickly feel you are part of our church family!
Please continue to pray for the Church and our staff as we reach out to the community with the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ. Remember if you don't have a Church home, you have a family waiting for you to join us here at Concord General Baptist. I hope to see you at one of our services in the near future. Have a blessed week in the Lord!
