Wow! What an exciting start to the Summer here at Concord General Baptist Church. We had an amazing VBS week with a total enrollment of 71 kids. God really blessed us this year as we expanded our bus route to pick up children all week. Thanks to Carol Byers and all the VBS staff for all your hard work in making this ministry outreach such a success!
God continues to work in our Sunday morning services with sending several new visitors over the past few weeks. This past Sunday morning the message was entitled "Enter with Boldness." So many times we allow setbacks in our life to cripple our faith and sometimes defeat our outlook on life. This is Satan at work and God instructs to enter boldly into his presence and allow Him to work in our lives. Read Hebrews 4:14-16 and understand the power we have in God as we can approach Him directly. Jesus knows and feels our pains we are going through and we need to have confidence in the plans God has for our lives. Many times God uses setbacks to move us forward in the direction that is right for His perfect plan and will for our lives. Paul goes on to show us 3 ways to enter boldly in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. So enter boldly into the presence of God and know how much He loves you and wants to bless and work in your life. One final thought is to understand the word Bold and the 4 characteristics of living a Bold life for Christ.
B - Believe (Romans 8:18, 28)
O - Offer Our Best (John 12:3)
L - Love (Matthew 22:37-40)
D - Deny Self (Luke 9:23 & 1 Corinthians 15:31)
I feel God has led us to be a Church that everyone is invited to come as you are and allow God to make a difference in your life! Too many times we want to judge people because they are different than us and that is not what God wants for His Church. Hope to see you real soon at one of our morning services at 10:30 a.m. I believe you will enjoy our worship services and quickly feel you are part of our church family! Have a very blessed week!
Love you all,
I am going to leave the message points from "Let Go and Let God" posted here on the welcome page, as we all need to let God have His way in our lives on a daily basis. God poured out his blessings on the Church in Acts 2:41-47 and He wants to do the same for us today! The four steps we must take as believers to "Let Go and Let God" are the following:
1) Claim Our Power (Acts 1:8)
2) Accept Our Mission (Matthew 28:19)
3) Unite in Love (Matthew 22:37-40)
4) Focus on Our Purpose (Romans 8:28)
That same God that saved 3,000 souls on the Day of Pentecost is the same God we serve today! We must unite together as a Church and Impact the world around us for the glory of God! Start each morning by saying, "Lord, What would you have me to do?" When we have a T.G.I.F. day (Today God is First), we truly "Let Go and Let God"! Folks are truly excited about the growth and vision God has placed upon our hearts. We are excited about all the hard work that has gone into our Junior Church program and are blessed with several workers to help train up our children in the Lord. We are starting back up the Discipleship Training Bible Study on Sunday nights. We will be taking a close look at the Purpose of the Church. The Church enthusiasm has been great to see and I know God is going to further bless through this study.
I also want to send out a thanks to all the visitors we have had over the past few weeks. We would love to have you join us each Sunday, if God places upon your heart to attend our Church. I am so blessed to Pastor at such a wonderful little country Church. I continue to pray God's Will be done at Concord and the entire Bloomfield community, as we seek to grow His Kingdom one soul at a time.
Wednesday nights we continue the great time of fellowship in our weekly Bible study. We will be starting a new Bible study this summer focusing on the "Power of Prayer." I invite you to join us on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.
I want to invite those in the community who do not have a Church home to come and grow with us this year. I know God has great plans for Concord and we have been blessed to see God at work through our first three years as Pastor. We continue to pray that God's will be done at all times and He sends new families to worship with us each Sunday. I am a firm believer that with God all things are possible! Concord is a small country Church with a giving heart and a vision to grow God's kingdom.
Please continue to pray for the Church and our staff as we reach out to the community with the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ. Remember if you don't have a Church home, you have a family waiting for you to join us here at Concord General Baptist. I hope to see you at one of our services in the near future. Have a blessed week in the Lord!
