It was so great to be back home from vacation and to worship with our Church family today. We missed you all last Sunday morning and were blessed to worship with some fellow believers in Waverly, Florida. I want to Praise God for an amazing Father's Day Service with close to 50 in attendance this morning.
God challenged us with a message titled "A Father Leads by Example" We looked at three examples of a Father's Love this morning. The first example showed us God's Love toward this world as recorded in I John 4:12-19. The second example came from the parable of the prodigal son and the unconditional love of the father as recorded in Luke 15:11-24. This assured us that God's arms are always open for our return and no matter what happens to us in life our heavenly father is there for us. The final example came from Matthew 5: 13-16. We are to be the light and the salt that changes this world and points them to Christ. In summary we as fathers are to be the example for our families and to lead our families in a life that brings glory to God. Our children are watching our examples and they learn more by what is caught than what is taught. May God bless each father that reads this message and I pray you are a father that leads by example.
Hard to believe Vacation Bible School starts tomorrow night (June 22 @ 6p.m.). I invite everyone to send your children from ages preschool thru 6th grade. We are excited about our Lego theme this year and our focus on building our lives upon God. This is going to be an exciting week to watch God work in all our lives. Dinner will be served every night, so come out and join in the fun of building your life upon God.
I feel God has led us to be a Church that everyone is invited to come as you are and allow God to make a difference in your life! Too many times we want to judge people because they are different than us and that is not what God wants for His Church. Hope to see you real soon at one of our morning services at 10:30 a.m. I believe you will enjoy our worship services and quickly feel you are part of our church family! Have a very blessed week!
Love you all,
I am going to leave the message points from "Let Go and Let God" posted here on the welcome page, as we all need to let God have His way in our lives on a daily basis. God poured out his blessings on the Church in Acts 2:41-47 and He wants to do the same for us today! The four steps we must take as believers to "Let Go and Let God" are the following:
1) Claim Our Power (Acts 1:8)
2) Accept Our Mission (Matthew 28:19)
3) Unite in Love (Matthew 22:37-40)
4) Focus on Our Purpose (Romans 8:28)
That same God that saved 3,000 souls on the Day of Pentecost is the same God we serve today! We must unite together as a Church and Impact the world around us for the glory of God! Start each morning by saying, "Lord, What would you have me to do?" When we have a T.G.I.F. day (Today God is First), we truly "Let Go and Let God"! Continue reading below to be part of the wonderful work God has been doing at Concord General Baptist Church.
Folks are truly excited about the growth and vision God has placed upon our hearts. We are excited about all the hard work that has gone into our Junior Church program and are blessed with several workers to help train up our children in the Lord. We are starting back up the Discipleship Training Bible Study on Sunday nights. We will be taking a close look at the Purpose of the Church. The Church enthusiasm has been great to see and I know God is going to further bless through this study.
I also want to send out a thanks to all the visitors we have had over the past few weeks. We would love to have you join us each Sunday, if God places upon your heart to attend our Church. I am so blessed to Pastor at such a wonderful little country Church. I continue to pray God's Will be done at Concord and the entire Bloomfield community, as we seek to grow His Kingdom one soul at a time.
Wednesday nights we continue the great time of fellowship in our weekly Bible study. We are continuing our study on "Discovering Our Spiritual Gifts". I invite you to join us on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.
I want to invite those in the community who do not have a Church home to come and grow with us this 2014 year. I know God has great plans for Concord and we have been blessed to see God at work through our first three years as Pastor. We continue to pray that God's will be done at all times and He sends new families to worship with us each Sunday. I am a firm believer that with God all things are possible! Concord is a small country Church with a giving heart and a vision to grow God's kingdom.
Please continue to pray for the Church and our staff as we reach out to the community with the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ. Remember if you don't have a Church home, you have a family waiting for you to join us here at Concord General Baptist. I hope to see you at one of our services in the near future. Have a blessed week in the Lord!
